EP History

Starting out as Entertainment Personnel in 1999, we have worked with hundreds of local and international businesses in the vibrant world of the creative industries.

  • Our beginnings

Since Patricia Powell-Hughes founded Entertainment Personnel in 1999 we have grown to become the leading Recruiter and Executive Search specialist to the creative industries.

Setting up in Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, where we still are today, Patricia drew from the industry sector to build a team of recruitment consultants with hands-on experience in creative management and production.

  • Branching out

We forged links with the industry, and shaped our recruiting expertise around film & TV production, broadcasting, music, digital media, theatre, arts and events, covering all roles except performers and crews.

Later we extended our services, as clients asked us to work with them in other capacities, including executive search, organisation design and business reviews.

  • Time to change

In 2011, after years of helping clients to grow and develop their businesses, it was time to update our brand to better reflect the work that we do, and plan to do in future. We formally adopted our industry nickname, ‘EP’, and created a fresh new look and website. Read about our journey.

  • What's new?

We have always handled Executive assignments and it is an area of growth for us. Our Executive services have been refocused, and the EP Executive team expanded. Feedback from clients is that they value our understanding of how their businesses operate, so our Executive model is very much based around client partnerships.

Later this year we will unveil EntryPoint - a candidate profile-building tool we have created to help us connect with a greater number of skilled job-seekers.  Unique to EP, EntryPoint will be a place where candidates can create and maintain industry-specific profiles. For clients it means that EP continues to be the recruiter who targets the best candidates for the job.

  • EP in the community

In support of our work with Indigenous networks, EP is involved with Reconciliation Australia’s YouMeUnity campaign to give greater recognition to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution.

EP is also an enthusiastic supporter of Fairy Sparkle If you haven’t yet met Fairy, that may be a good thing, as her self-funded work is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children by building magical secret gardens in hospitals.
